Motivation

Grey environments raise grey individuals. Our surroundings have a big impact on our lives. Hence, to better our lives we can start by improving our surroundings. The easiest way to improve our surroundings is by recolouring them.
Interior designers have realised this power long ago. However, exterior design for the most part has remained cold and uninviting. This is mostly due to complexity and cost involved in such work. Although the materials (such as paint) is rather cheap compared to other renovation tasks, the labour is expensive. It takes a team of a designer and a handful of creative painters to do the paint job plus a support team to set up the scaffolding. And then it takes time to make it happen.

Solution
We propose increase the accessibility to beautiful surroundings by providing a less-involved way of decorating exterior walls. The service would employ a robotic system to decorate the walls. The customer would only need to express his views to the designer who would create an image to be painted and then align it on the wall. The robot would take care of the rest. This way our surroundings could be improved in a simple and timely manner.
By attaching an automated painting system to a crane we aim to build a spatial printer that may help to paint multi-story constructions.
